    Pursuing selected organic growth and efficiency initiatives is one of the foundations of JBT’s ELEVATE strategy. To achieve the goal, we have identified supplier development and commodity purchasing as key areas to strengthen our capability. We have also identified India as a strategic resource in global supply chain. To better utilize the resource so to benefit JBT’s spending efficiency, we are going to set up an International Procurement Office in India.

    This role shall support the Sr. manager/ Director India IPO on the establishment of a strong local base of technically enabling supplier partners and driving BOM localization activities in the assigned commodity category.

    Responsibilities

    • Build a strong local supply base to support components requirements globally
    • Deliver annual savings targets.
    • Execute commodity purchasing localization activities with local and global teams to achieve localization target
    • Supplier relationship management, handle local pricing negotiations.
    • Foster positive and cooperative relationships with internal customers in a proactive manner
    • Executing purchase orders in accordance with proper procedures.
    • Work collaboratively with Quality to ensure that all purchased material conforms to requirements.
    • Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste Rules and Responsibilities.
    • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

    Qualifications

    1. Working experience: 8+ years of working experience in commodity purchasing or product design. Global commodity procurement experience preferably capital equipment industry. Experienced background in a multi-national company
    2. Education: Bachelor or above degree with engineering related background
    3. Language: Excellent English capability both verbal & writing is essential
    4. Computer: Good general knowledge including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Previous exposure to ERP systems
    5. Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of driving significant savings
    6. Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
    7. A quick learner, can understand equipment’s manufacturing processes and cost drivers in a short term
    8. Project management (as team member / project leader)
    9. A proven track record of introducing and successfully leveraging local suppliers
    10. Ability to understand complex contents / tasks, self-motivated and able to multitasks
    11. C.P.I.M. or APICS certification will be plus
